We are looking forward to an exciting April with some new teachers, classes and courses.

Also welcome back to Leanne Jones after having her second baby (well done!). She is going to run a 2 hour monthly Jivamukti class on a Friday evening. As ever, the details are below and in the calendar – please check it!

With best wishes from Sharon and all the teachers and therapists at Dorchester Yoga and Therapy Centre

Introducing Sophie Russell and her Pilates

Originally from Dorset, I have spent most of my adult life in Melbourne, Australia initially working in the corporate world and then, when I realised I simply couldn’t sit still any more, I leapfrogged into the world of health and fitness with a particular interest in Pilates.  As sharp a left turn as this was (or toadstool boing) it was definitely the right one for me.  I have worked in large gyms and small studios, taught in boardrooms and on the beach and it is this variety, both in clientele and location, that has continued to inspire and educate me and I hope I can try to pass some of that enthusiasm and knowledge on to others.

Sophie Russell photoI recently made the move back to Dorset because the pull of family and friends here became too strong to resist. I thought I had timed it to perfection by relishing my final Aussie summer and then landing back into Spring. Not so Mr Snowman!

My classes are suitable for all levels, ages and abilities with a strong focus on tuning into your body’s current needs and aiming to release the knots and tighten the loose bits… more or less!  I always include modifications and progressions for those who want a challenge or quite simply not and hope that everyone leaves the studio feeling a couple of inches taller. I look forward to meeting and working with all the wonderful people at Dorchester Yoga and therapy Centre and bid you all a warm welcome to come and drop by one of my Pilates classes.
